*PCA Junior Participation Program (JPP) is intended to encourage families to become and stay more involved with PCA and covers 16 & 17 year old sons, daughters, step-children, nieces, nephews and grandchildren of PCA members.  Once these sons, daughters or other relatives become 18, they will be able to join PCA as a full member.

The JPP allows the above listed fully-licensed 16 & 17 year olds to participate in autocross, autocross schools, gymkhana and rally (as navigator only) club events. All JPP requirements must still be fulfilled, including having the appropriate insurance forms/waivers properly filled out and signed by all parents/legal guardians; and having both at least one parent and the relative that is a PCA member in attendance at the event.

Registration Procedures:

After you have signed both of the "Insurance Releases", you will be given a registration card at the gate.

The color of the card is YOUR run group.  If you have 2 drivers in one car, you will be assigned different run groups - make sure your cards are different colors.

Park your car.  Please complete the front of the AX Registration card, print your name LEGIBLY, and the rest of the information.

Prepare your car for "Tech Inspection."  When you and your car are ready for "Tech", open both of your hoods and stay with your car.

A Tech Inspector will come to you and complete the "Tech Inspection".

Once your car has passed "Tech" bring the card to Registration and complete that.

Grady Carter  by Grady Carter, Autocross Director

As Redwood Region's Autocross Director, I would like to invite all Redwood members to come out and visit our autocrosses this year, even if you do not want to compete. We will have the gate manned all day, so you can stop by anytime to visit.

There will be an autocross competition this year starting with the first event, March 12.  If you want to compete you need to go the the Golden Gate Region website and classify your car.  We will be using their classifications.  To get started early, follow this link:  PCA Golden Gate Region Classify    Zone 7 Rules

As you may have heard or read, all of Redwood's 2016 autocross events will be for PCA members or Porsche owners only. PCA members may drive any vehicle at our autocrosses.   All non-Porsche driver participants must show PCA membership card at the gate.

What is autocross?

Autocross is a sport where you try to drive around a course in the shortest possible time. The course is laid out at our wonderful site at the Sonoma County Airport and outlined by orange plastic cones. Every run is timed electronically and time is added for each cone tipped over. You can measure your progress throughout the day, and possibly earn bragging rights. We emphasize safety, fun and speed. This is probably the safest and least expensive way to drive your Porsche at the limit. Autocross is also a driver education class. There are qualified instructors available at each event, and we have loaner helmets available.

For those of you who are interested in autocross, but not sure if you want to give it a try, we offer something called "A Taste of the Autocross", where for $5 we will put you in a car with one of our Instructors and let you ride along for a couple of runs. The money goes to our charity, Sonoma CASA.

Autocross is a great way to:
Learn how to handle your Porsche.
Drive your Porsche the way it was meant to be driven.
Make new friends.
See "old" friends.
Spend time with your significant other doing something fun.
