On Sunday March 11th, PCA members from all over Zone 7 made the trip to Walnut Creek to collect their awards for the Zone Autocross and Concours series. Once again, this year's awards ceremony was at Pyramid Alehouse, Brewery & Restaurant.

Autocross awards were given to 12 class winners, including Redwood Region members Howard Thomas for 1st in SS03, LaVergne Thomas 1st Place in SS03L, Bob Schoenherr for 1st Place in AX15, Sharon Neidel for 1st in AX12L and yours truly for 1st in AX12.

Bob was the big winner from Redwood Region. For the 2nd year in a row, Bob took 1st place in his Concours Class (Street-3) but also took 1st place overall in the Street Division. Bob's 1976 912E, known as "Queenie" showed in 5 of the 6 Zone 7 Concours events. Bob had lots of help from Anita Benzing to prepare "Queenie" for all the Concours events.

Because of Bob's and Anita's efforts, "Queenie" finished with the highest total points in the Zone 7 Concours Series, taking home a very large trophy. "Queenie" was also entered in the "Legends of the Autobahn" Concours in Carmel Valley, taking 1st place in the "Early 911 & 912" Class.

Bob's and Anita's participation in both the Zone Autocross & Concours Series were noticed by our Zone Rep Sharon Neidel, Zone 7 Autocross Chair Larry Adams, and Zone 7 Concours Chair Les Schreiber. Bob and Anita were awarded "Zone 7 Co-Enthusiasts of the Year"!

Other Zone 7 awards given included "2011 Event of the Year" to GGR's Carlsen Concours, and the "Autocross Tenacity Award" to SVR's Scott Lines. GGR's Terry Zaccone took home the "Overall PAX Award", and SVR's Lisa Thomas the Ladies PAX Award.

Afterward the ceremony, Bob and Anita said,  "We both were so proud to be honored by our peers with such an award. Also amazed, stunned, and downright blown away!!!!!"
